Things We Wish We’d Known (2024)
Hope Abbigail Nulf
Originally, this book was going to be called “Mom and Me.” However, that was not distinctly trans enough. At a time when trans kids are almost uniformly disliked and treated poorly, resources need to be clear. In writing my 7 previous books, the most meaningful “think you” came from parents with trans kids. Parents needing help and kids not knowing what’s going on are the audience for this book.
I told someone the other day that behind every transgender person who survived to adulthood and found happiness, there is a fierce and unrelenting mother. This book is my mom and I accepting we wished we’d known more, but forgiving ourselves for not.
